Through 3D reconstruction the author of this site brings back to life scenes from Rome, Egypt, Pompeii and other aspects of the Roman Empire.
The AncientVine hosts a gallery of stunning images ranging from the Forum of Pompeii to mythical characters of antiquity. Visit Hadrian's wall, the Roman Forum, and gladiators in the coliseum. Travel to ancient Egypt and the Temple of Ra.
This site also has a complete virtual tour of a roman domus. Step inside the home of a roman citizen, visit the Atrium, peristyle, bedroom, or take a look at the highly detailed roman kitchen. The attention to detail and authenticity are unmatched.
There are also resources for 3D artists including 3D models free to download.
Plans are being made to take this site to the next level of entertainment and historical content with a web-based roman role-playing game. Play the part of a ordinary roman citizen living in a small provincial roman city. The game is in development and is expected to come out in late 2008.
