Welcome - Rocky Mountains, Colorado Bed and Breakfast Inn - Anchorage Farm - Pine, CO, guest ranch
Description
Jim Cooper, owner, is now in his 35th year in the horse business. His dressage background includes instruction with Karl Mikolka, Hans Moeller, Jan Janssen, and Violet Hopkins. In 1997 Jim participated in the United States Dressage Federation's (USDF) instructor pre-certification clinics presented in Colorado by Gerhard Politz. He is an accomplished instructor, trainer and farrier. It is Jim who drives the six-horse trailer when we trailer the whole gang to horse shows and trail rides! He also has a degree in fish and wildlife management and was a Michigan State park interpreter for 15 years. It is Jim’s creative handiwork that you see throughout the property.
Kristann Schneider Jones Cooper, Jim’s wife, holds a masters degree in counseling psychology and worked for over 20 years in corporate and government settings. She draws upon her own "world of work" experience when she helps children prepare for their future. A gifted instructor, Kris can see tension in the horse or rider, wherever it might reside. In 2000, Kris completed a full series of USDF instructor pre-certification clinics.
Doug Jones, barn manager, draws upon over 20 continuous years of experience in caring for horses. He reads each horse's individual personality "like the back of his hand". He anticipates and ameliorates even the slightest concern about a horse's health, soundness, comfort or welfare.
