- Anamata PTE was established in 1993 by it's governing body, the Anamata Charitable Trust to deliver excellent education and training services for Maori in the Bay of Plenty, particularly Tūhoe Māori, and the people in the Bay of Plenty in general.
- Registered with the New Zealand Qualifications Authority as a private training establishment, under the Education Amendment Act 1989, Anamata PTE is accredited and quality assured to deliver both national qualifications registered on the NZQA framework and its own qualifications.
- Anamata is contracted by the Ministry of Education for EFTs funded courses and by Skill New Zealand for Training Opportunities and Youth Training courses. Complementary to these courses are other programmes in Kawerau such as the Ministry of Education He Ara Tika; Māori Secondary School Mentoring programme and the OBF programme under Work and Income NZ providing assistance to job seekers into full time employment.
