An Angel's Art Scrapbook Page Kits Scrapbooking Simplified

Description

I started An Angel's Art in a tiny storefront behind a barber shop in August of 1996. The store eventually grew and moved, first into a larger strip mall in Falcon Heights and later into a freestanding building down the street. Throughout my existance as a retailer, my store's strength would never be the store's size, but rather in the unique mix of products offered and the original ideas and concepts that I continually developed for my demonstrations and classes.

In January of 2001, I forged a partnership with Accu-Cut Systems and became a freelance die designer for their company. Accu-Cut produced many of my original boxes and paper crafting patterns as steel rule dies for their popular hand operated roller die cutting equipment. Later, I continued to create new designs for other craft arenas and for their education division.

In August of 2002, I was offered an opportunity to be a freelance designer for their Creative Team, and I began to create project designs that would be shared with retailers and consumers nationwide via their trade show booths, their idea pages on Jangle.com, and in their print advertising. It was an incredible opportunity to stretch my imagination and utilize all of my creative skills. It would also give me the chance to travel and to teach on a national level, which was also something I was wanting to do. As any independent retailer can tell you, retailing requires an incredible commitment of time and energy. I felt that I would be unable to do both well simultaneously, and so I chose to close the retail storefront in October of 2002 and focus on my design work. I haven't regretted that decision for one moment!
