- American Wood Sign Company started out as Rock'in M Ranch Crafts by Hugh's wife, Nancy Jane in 1992 on their hobby farm in rural Plymouth, Wisconsin. The hobby farm was called Rock'in M due to their love of Rock and Roll which was booming from speakers in the house to the barns! Nancy Jane quit her job and worked hard on remodeling the farm with Hugh and working on her woodcraft business by selling in Country Sampler in Appleton WI and 12 other consignment stores throughout the USA. She made various wood crafts and her crowning feat was getting pyrography (woodburning) noted as an art. Her one woman shows had her 'Art' displayed in Kohler WI and her art was bought and hung in galleries from California, RI, WI, Japan and China to name a few.
