The Latin America Mining constitutes one of the main economic activities and its development is bound to the growth of our countries.
Even so, the discovery of new mining deposits, new technologies associated to unitary operations of mineral production, processing and recovery altogether with the favourable price of metals create a unique frame in their sort.
However, the intensity and quantity of mining conflicts generate an ominous influence to our competitiveness and sustainable growth.
In response to this increasing preoccupation, Intercade and Tiempo Minero with the accreditation of Universidad Nacional de Piura, have united efforts to carry out and officially announce the realisation of the 5th International Seminary of ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY IN MINING “FOR A RESPONSIBLE MINING”, which will take place from April the 22nd to the 24th of the 2009, being Peru the venue of this event in the present year.
This is considered an alternative to the prevailing necessity to provide tools that can cooperate to the solution of this international problematic which influences negatively in our development.
As speakers there will be executives of Mining Companies, State Institutions, Private Institutions and Rural Communities, integrating as a whole the relation between company - community - state, which through their broad experience in environmental and social subjects will contribute for the participants to be able to complement their knowledge with the objective of realising a successful social-environmental management in their respective companies and institutions.
We invite you to participate in this 5th International Seminar, the most important to be realised in Latin America.
