The American Fellowship Church is an independent non-denominational Church that believes in allowing individual responsibility for spiritual growth and development. They welcome and ordain both men and women. They have also ordained many ministers from countries all around the world.
People want to become ordained for almost as many different reasons as there are people. Fortunately, the constitutional separation of church and state in the United States allows for a degree of freedom for spiritual growth and religious expression.
Whether people feel the call to serve God as minister, preacher, pastor, priest, deacon, brother or sister, or even rabbi, becoming ordained can be the way for them to achieve their goal.
A number of people wish to be ordained in order to perform the marriage of a friend or relative or to officiate at weddings. The American Fellowship Church ordains people so that they can become legal marriage officiants and provides comprehensive, up-to-date guidelines on Marriage Laws in all the USA states.
The American Fellowship Church believes that each person's reasons for wishing to become ordained are between that person and God and that if you become ordained, you may find yourself led to spiritual growth and development.
Some people are ready to begin their ministry using skills and knowledge they have learned from their life experience, but for most people some training is beneficial. The American Fellowship Church offers excellent optional correspondence courses which can be studied at home over a time-frame to suit each individual. Previous students from Toronto, Canada, have reported that the Well-being and Counseling courses were accepted by the Government in qualifying them for jobs in Government Social Services positions.
The Journeyman Minister title is earned by those who complete the three Courses: Well Being, Counseling Skills and Minister Training.
In addition the Church has Tax Guides for ministers and sample documents for setting up a new church or other non-profit organisation.
