- Welcome children of the night to the place of no return where you will find a page with a slightly Vampiric feel even if its rather stereotypical goth. I like the idea of vampirism, even if its the largely Byronic aspects of it. I know some that feel immortality would be a form of living purgatory, and would be a suitable punishment for the people they hate, and I can see their reasoning goth shopin that you become a part of the past, that no matter how adaptable you are, you cannot continue living since life itself becomes a prison of solitude and loneliness as you lose all connections with the present. All that was is lost and all that remains is unrecognizable, unless there are other Vampire's that are from your own time or from a time still understandable to yourself. The fear of death is strong in one and all, and the will to survive never slackens, but the greatest fear is that there is no afterlife. The power achieved over others is attractive since so few have real power over their own or other's lives. And how good it would be to enjoy the quality of what the world has to offer, to appreciate the arts, philosophy, music and literature, and all those things that are denied to the great majority of us because we are concerned solely with securing enough bread to exist another day and have no leisure for anything else. And what of the morality of it all, the drinking of human blood to survive, has not mankind lived on the flesh and blood of other animals?. Good and evil are not immutable. The difference between them is often a matter of human expedience. goth shopAnd at the very least it allows me to dress up really weird and go up to females and ask if they fancy a bite. ;-) I don't like the Masquarade Live Role Play, as you are basically sitting in a room pretending to be living a life instead of going out and *ACTUALLY* living a life. In more complex terms, it is a form of escapism where the character becomes all which the person would wish to be but lacks in their own personal life, and they play the character in life as well as in the game, for it is the only way in which they will attain social approval from others, so they become an actor who only acts the emotions, never really facing the dangers of life or the pain of existence, but simply hides behind a mask grasping onto illusions of power and importance.
