If you thought the "Glider" in AHGA was a typo, you're not alone. It was named "Glider" instead of "Gliding" when the AHGA was created as the second hang gliding organization in the US. The term "Hang Glider" then meant a person who flies a hang glider, nowadays it means the type of aircraft. Renaming it to the "Arizona Hang Gliding Association" has been up for vote more than once, but it has always been voted down.
