- Chief Emmanuel Ahamdi Nweke was born to Edward Onwumelu Nweke (now late) from Umuhie Village in Isiala Ngwa South LGA and Chief (Mrs) Helen Nwanyinma Nweke (Nne Oha 1, of Ovuokwu Autonomous Community and Akara-aka of Okporo Ahaba Autonomous Community) from Mbutu Amairilisi in Isiala Ngwa South LGA.
- The late Edward Nweke started life as a school teacher in the 1950s in the northern part of Nigeria and attended St. Peter’s College Kaduna. He and his wife spent most of their working lives in northern Nigeria during which period they gave birth to five of their children, including Chief Emmanuel Nweke, before returning to Aba during the civil war.
