- AGEG is a grouping of individuals with the aim of fighting against ‘globalization’ in Egypt, by way of spreading awareness of the dangers of ‘globalization’ and by acting to try to counter these dangers. The group started with a limited initiative in 2001, and over the following years this initiative has succeeded in greatly expanding its scope of action.
- AGEG locates itself in the broader international movement against globalization; thus it supports the demands of that movement and co-ordinates with it in its stand against the policies of ‘globalization’ pushed forward by the mega-corporations and international institutions such as the WTO and the World Bank.
- The group resorts to all means of spreading awareness and mobilization, including organizing seminars and publishing papers, organizing action campaigns on relevant issues, as well as joining the initiatives of other groups whose aims coincide with the principles of the group.
