About Agcmcc.org
The Twin Cities were in the forefront of the early "gay rights movement," as it was called at the time. FREE (Freedom from Repression from Erotic Expression) was founded at the University of Minnesota on May 18, 1969 - just before the Stonewall Riots in New York City. The first Gay Pride parade in Minnesota was held in the summer of 1970. Gay House, a counseling and social agency for gay men was formed soon after, as was the Lesbian Resource Center.
