Title
Against Politics: Libertarianism Without Metaphysics
Description
Excerpted from the website:
- It's tempting to describe Against Politics as an experiment in how much of libertarianism can be preserved by looking at it from a roughly logical positivist perspective. Academically speaking, the challenge is to reconcile the libertarian idea with a so called non-cognitivist view in meta-ethics.
- Can we talk normative philosophy without appearing silly? Can we conceive of libertarianism as something else than ideology or secular religion? Do we have good reason to advance libertarianism?
- Rejecting appeals to intuition, (natural) rights or semantic trickery one tends to end up with some sort of contractarianism; morals as an agreement between rational self-interested individuals.
