- Bill Hawk, M.D., founder of After Hours Pediatrics, is a board certified pediatrician who did his training at the Medical University of South Carolina and finished his pediatric residency in 1983. Following residency, Dr. Hawk started a solo practice in the small town of Evanston, Wyoming under the auspices of the National Health Service. He moved to Albuquerque in 1987 and joined a small pediatric group practice. In 1990 he left private practice for Lovelace Health Systems where he opened the Journal Center pediatric clinic and oversaw its early growth. While at Lovelace, he also served as Associate Medical Director of the Lovelace Health Plan and Vice President of Information Systems. Just prior to opening After Hours Pediatrics, Dr. Hawk was an independent consultant in healthcare information management and technology. Dr. Hawk is a Fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the Greater Albuquerque Medical Association, the New Mexico Medical Society, the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society, and the American College of Physician Executives.
