The Air Force Historical Foundation and the United States Air Force: A Special Relationship

The Air Force Historical Foundation (AFHF) is an independent, non-profit corporation with strong historic bonds to the United States Air Force. Some of the founders of the United States Air Force—Generals Arnold, Spaatz, Vandenberg, Eaker, Twining, Partridge, Kuter and McKee—also founded the AFHF. Since 1953 the Foundation has been dedicated to promoting the preservation and appreciation of the history of the United States Air Force and its predecessors.

The AFHF mission, as detailed below in its Mission Statement, is commensurate with, and supportive of, that of the Air Force:

The Air Force Historical Foundation is dedicated to promoting the preservation and appreciation of the history of the United States Air Force and its predecessors. The Foundation seeks to inform and inspire the men and women who are, or have been, affiliated with the Air Force and the general public, particularly those with an interest in national security, about the dynamic heritage of air and space power and its relevance to contemporary and future issues.
