Founded in 2002, Affordable Search Engine Ranking was born from a desire to make a career change and a love for computers and the internet. Having developed an interest in marketing over the years and wanting to continue in the computer field, the founder, Cindy Turrietta, decided that Internet marketing was what she wanted to do.
Realizing that an understanding of how web pages are built would be necessary in order to optimize them for search engine ranking, she found some great multimedia classes offered by the San Diego Center for Education and Technology North City/Career Center, and started to learn web design.
She also found a great online course offered by the Academy of Web Specialists that enabled her to earn her SEO (search engine optimization) Certification. In August of 2002 she attended her first Search Engine Strategies Conference in San Jose and met many of the leaders in the field of search engine optimization and internet marketing. Soon thereafter she was working on her first client site and discovering just how much it takes to really make the rankings happen. That site today is ranking on the first page for all but one of the keywords they wanted.
