- Actors Workshop (AW) was founded in 1991 by Michael Colucci, a Chicago-trained actor who has worked at Court, Victory Gardens, American Blues (now ATC) and other respected theatres. Operating out of a loft in the Old Town neighborhood in Chicago, the AW offered acting classes and private coaching for adults 18 and over. Relying primarily on the Stanislavski System or “The Method,” classes focused on working moment-to-moment, and more specifically, (1) performing and changing moments clearly and truthfully, and (2) making exciting theatrical choices on stage. The AWT offers a comprehensive curriculum and utilizes a very affordable pay scale of One-Flat-Fee per month for unlimited classes.
