A New Jersey man was awarded $25 million dollars in a Accutane lawsuit this week. The man, Andrew McCarrell of Moody, Alabama, had taken the drug for acne when he was in his 20's and developed inflammatory bowel disorder. He sued Hoffmann-La Roche Incorporated in 2007 for failing to warn of the drugs side effects. He won that case and Hoffmann-La Roche appealed. An appeals court ordered the new trial after overturning a $2.62 million award he won in May 2007.
