What (summary)

To make AboutUs Bot efficient enough to extract info from most of the websites that it crawls.

Conversation with multippt on irc.

It uses the personal about page to describe the site, rather than a proper description present in the site's tagline.

*i.e. the author's bio the logo used is simply an image named as "logo.xxx". It fails against sites which name their logos otherwise.
