AFT Communications Association
Description
Established in 1955, the American Federation of Teachers Communications Association is a voluntary, self-help, self-funded national organization of AFT union editors and others involved in communications and public relations. We sponsor a conference every year around AFT's National Convention and the QuEST Conference in alternating years. We have a constitution, elect officers every two years, and network with each other.
We are teachers, support staff, public employees, health professionals and faculty members who take on additional editing and communication responsibilities for our unions. Many of us are full-and part-time communications professionals skilled in writing/editing publications, media relations, advertising and public relations campaigns.
We work together to share our knowledge and experience to raise standards of union communications. We share a commitment to building a stronger AFT and a more effective labor movement.
