A40DeepStrike.com is dedicated to the Soldiers and families of 'A' Battery 40th Field Artillery, MLRS - Francois Kaserne - Hanau, Germany 1987 to 1992
These Soldiers, with whom I had the honor of serving, forged dedication, discipline, technology and an 'All for One' esprit de corps, to create a devastating volume of accurate and deadly, 'Steel Rain' firepower. In doing so, we helped the Coalition Forces secure a tremendous victory during the Persian Gulf War in 1991.
In 1997, the Secretary of the Army awarded 'A' Battery 40th Field Artillery a Meritorious Unit Commendation for service in combat action. For many, 'A' 40th Field Artillery was only another stopping point along the treacherous road of a lifetime of military service. For others, like me, assignment to 'A' 40th Field Artillery defined our military career.
For me, this project has been just as much a long, sought after personal desire, as a labor of love, gratitude and appreciation for those Brothers, Enlisted, NCO and Officer alike, whom I hold in such high regard and have such fond memories of our short time together.
Twenty years ago, our lives all crossed at the same point, for a vaporous moment in time. Now, through this place of brotherhood and remembrance, may our lives converge, once again... Deep Strike!
