A La Carte Europe Tours is a group of private driver-guides and chauffeurs. They cover most of Europe and speak most of the languages of Europe.

A La Carte Europe Tours offer pan-European private tours. That means that the tour is strictly private and personal, just made for you.

Such a European tour may start in London. Your driver will await you with a private limousine at the airport. In London, you may see Westminster Palace. That building, apparently medieval, was in fact built in the middle of the 19C following a fire. Only Westminster Hall dates back to 1097, its superb frame in the form of an up-turned ship's hull was built in 1394. It is a meeting place for the Members of Parliament and Lords who sit respectively in the House of Commons and in the House of Lords. When Parliament is sitting a British flag is hung from the Victoria Tower.

From London, your tour may lead you to Paris via the Eurostar bullet train. All luggage handling and checking-in is taken care of by your guide, who accompanies you on your train journey in a First-Class compartment. Near Paris, visit Versailles. The Palace of Versailles is a symbol both of the absolute monarchy of the Sun King and of classical perfection. The King's Apartment is distributed around the Marble Courtyard. It was designed by Hardouin-Mansart, between 1682 and 1701 in Louis XIII's Palace. The Queen's staircase, richly decorated, leads to the l'Œil-de-Boeuf Room, and then on to the King's lavish bedroom, restored like it was in 1722, and to the Salle du Conseil. The Dauphin's apartement and those of the Dauphine have only kept part of their decorations and furniture from the mid 17C.
Freiburg in Breisgau
Another important stop is the Queen's Apartment, decorated by Marie-Antoinette with 18C taste, with the golden cabinet, which marks the return of antique decoration. Admire Louis XV's private apartments, a real wonder (notice the extraordinary astrological clock, the roll-top desk by Oeben and Riesener in the King's Inner Study, a masterpiece in itself in the grotesque style, or Louis XVI Game Lounge) and the oval shaped Royal Opera.

Germany offers some fine sightseeing in Europe, even in lesser known cities like Freiburg in Breisgau, just across the border from France. Freiburg's cathedral is a primitive Romanesque building that begun around 1200; underwent numerous changes up until the 16C. From the top of the tower there is a splendid view over Freiburg and the surrounding countryside. The porch and west door are decorated with numerous statues (late 13C) depicting Satan and various Biblical characters. Inside, the nave also contains many fine statues. There is an altarpiece (16C) by HB Grien in the light and airy chancel.

All over Europe, the dedicated driver-guides of A La Carte Europe Tours will make sure that you will see the best attractions, and in the best conditions.
