- The 99W Drive-in theatre opened in August 1953 with "Sea Devils" and "Under the Sahara" as the first features to be played there. The theatre was built by my Grandfather, J.T. (Ted) Francis who, at 98 years old, worked 6 nights a week at the Cameo theatre until a few weeks before his death in 1999.
