- T he 5th Regiment is commanded by its own elected Colonel and his appointed staff. The companies, acting through their company commanders, vote at the annual regimental meeting in October to elect the colonel for a two-year assignment. The Regiment Staff is appointed by the elected colonel from the officers and non-commission officers from the various companies in the regiment.
