When and how did you first discover you had the gift to help people?
- The desire to help people has been a motivating force throughout my life. Everyone has the gift to help others, and I’m fortunate to have had the opportunity and honor to assist so many people. I can hear-between-the-lines of people’s stories and create a heart-centered connection to the truth of who they really are. This ability to connect, paired with my natural psychic abilities, enables me to help others find that truth within themselves.
- I was born in rural south Alabama to a pharmacist dad and an artist mom. My “formal” education led to a BS in developmental psychology and an MA in contemporary American poetry. In the early ‘90s, I moved across the country to San Francisco where I worked as a professional business writer. I’m a country girl at heart, though, and life in the city eventually became too stressful. In the late ‘90s, I moved to the rural coastal redwood mountains of Northern California, where I currently live with my husband, Larry, and our two delightful cats, Kona and Sunshine. My move to Humboldt came with the inspiration to expand what had always been a passion of mine - herbal medicine. I started my own herbal business, Humboldt Herbals, in February of 1998. I’m fortunate to have incredible employees at the shop, which allows me the time to see clients, teach workshops and create.
How did you get started in this business?
- I’m a lifelong student of world religions and contemporary spiritual practices, and have explored many different spiritual techniques and teachings over the years. In 2002, I came across a book by Doreen Virtue, PhD, about connecting with angels for guidance and assistance. I was astonished by the powerful, almost immediate results of asking the angels for assistance, and the rest, as they say, is history. I pursued formal studies with Dr. Virtue, which complemented my previous spiritual training, my herbal practice and my work with plant spirit medicine. These aspects have joined together to form the core of my private practice and spiritual life coaching services, and continue to evolve in miraculous ways.
Do you have any advanced degrees or specialized training?
- I have a Masters Degree in English (Contemporary American Poetry). I'm also a certified Angel Therapy Practitioner® with advanced training, a certified Medium, a certified herbalist, a Reiki practitioner, a flower essence practitioner, and a minister with the Universal Life Church
Do you offer special services or insights that customers might find helpful?
- I blend Angel Therapy® with plant spirit medicine to create a wholistic mind-body-spirit experience. Angel Therapy® always includes very practical, clear directions about specific steps to take to help you live your bliss.
Do you do any charity or non-profit work?
- I donate time and money to a diverse selection of local non-profit organizations, especially those benefiting children or the environment.
Why do you love what you do?
- Because my job is to help people have deeply fulfilling, joyful experiences in every aspect of their life. I love helping people become self-empowered vibrant joyful beings in touch with their own divinity. It just doesn't get better than that!
What times are you usually available?
- I'm available on 12Angel most Wednesdays, and I see clients for in-person sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Do you have any other projects, books or multimedia that you'd like to inform us of?
- I'm currently writing a chapter for the upcoming anthology "Angel On My Shoulder II: Divine Life Wisdom From The World's Foremost Angel Experts." I'm also a partner in a business called AngelPlay - we host spiritual retreats/vacations in Mt. Shasta and Hawaii, and have a wonderful line of Sea Crystal bath soaks (available online at humboldtherbals.com) with other aroma-vibrational products coming soon.
