- c.j.d. mayers began life in 1948 when 'jack' mayers set up a company supplying fasteners to the local automotive manufacturing industry. within a few years the company had expanded it's customer base as well as its stockholding to include a comprehensive range of fasteners and fixings to suit a diverse range of trades. in the early 1970's the running of the business was passed on to jack's son, john, who along with doug hartley moved the company forward, in the process becoming one of the first appointed 'tucker' rivet distributors. john mayers wanted to concentrate on the rivet business so in the 1980's he started up a new company leaving doug hartley to continue with c.j.d. mayers. under doug's guidance the company has continued to invest in an ever increasing range of products and now offers fasteners, fixings, abrasive discs, anaerobic threadlocking and industrial consumables with names such as loxeal, action-can, goliath, dormer, bond-it, jubilee, phoenix ii, silverline and draper. as the 21st century opens up new markets via the internet, c.j.d. mayers & co ltd are determined to develop their business to appeal to both end user and merchant trade customers in offering value for money, quality brands combined with top quality, effective service.
