- Jim and Patty Roberts have been making great coffee and pastries since 1974 when they set up their coleman stove at Eugene's Saturday market to try to work their way through school. By night they made baklava, by day they made great coffee. School finally came to an end. Then came Coffee Man in 1976 and finally Coffee People in 1983. What a long strange trip it's been, but the coffee and pastries are better than ever...maybe practice does make perfect! Now, sons Patrick and Saul and daughter Myra join them to continue a family tradition.
