The company was started by two Austrian Airlines pilots who identified a need in the marketplace for PC-based flight planning solutions. The original product was deployed by Austrian Airlines in 1987 and has been in use ever since. Recently, f:wz was awarded the exclusive flight planning and operations contract for Austrian Airlines Group, a major recognition for the years of consistent and reliable service. Besides that f:wz's list of references keeps growing: in the meantime the company globally serves 16 airlines and partners with 4 major service providers within the aviation industry.
