Hello, my name is Dick Zimmerman and I want to thank you for taking the time to visit this website, allowing me to introduce myself and my work. It has been my pleasure to serve clients from all over the world, including many famous names, as a professional portrait artist since 1975. My business, Dick Zimmerman Studio Inc. and Z Portraitures, Inc. has allowed me to provide my clients with memories to last a lifetime. My paintings are referred to as “Masterpiece Portraits”. I travel all over the world to complete the primary step of my portrait compositions which is to take photographs in the comfort of the client’s home environment. I portray the life and energy as captured in the reference from the photographs and transfer this image using oil paints onto canvas. The final framed painting is museum-quality and will last forever! What sets me apart from any other portrait artist is my experience in photography. For many years before I went back to painting I was recognized as the number one celebrity photographer in the United States. So for the first step in creating my gorgeous portraits, I have a much more natural level of expertise than what many other artists start with.
Throughout my career I was given the rare opportunity to paint one of the most influential painters of all time. Salvador Dali and his wife Gala asked me to paint their portraiture for their 50th wedding anniversary. One of my most iconic pieces is the cover to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” album cover. I am featured on Entertainment Tonight’s website during a segment with Michael Jackson when I unveiled my tribute to him when he died. Other celebrity names include: John and Kelly Travolta, Paul Newman, Tom Sellek, Dolly Parton, Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, and many other world-renowned people. I even received a personal invitation from Donald Trump to display my artwork in an exclusive exhibition at his estate in Palm Beach. The opportunities I have had are endless and I am honored to have had the opportunity to capture the many beautiful faces I did portraying these wonderful lives and faces on canvas.
