roads & buildings department came into existence on 01-04-1965, by merging the buildings wing of the public works department with the highways department.the chief engineer roads & buildings department was in charge of just five circles, namely kakinada, eluru, cuddapah, headquarters and medak circles in 1965. by the year 1970 two more circles viz. nellore & warangal were added to the department.
