Zoosrus.com is a darn friendly group of hobbyists who have a passion for reef keeping, and we particularly like zoanthid varieties. That’s certainly not to say we won’t post pictures of our reef tanks or other coral species we keep, or answer questions about alkalinity levels or protein skimmers for example because we most certainly will. The bottom line is that even though our zoanthid picture threads are now legendary, we will help our member community with any issue they may come across!
Unlike other mammoth reef sites that have tens of thousands of users, we’re not interested in quantity but rather quality. Our goal is to develop a tight knit community who enjoy reading, posting and helping each other with this enjoyable and highly addictive hobby that is reef keeping.
Oh and as far as the name of the site itself, the zoanthid has quickly become the DeFacto coral for the reef hobbyist, both beginner and advanced alike. Their colonies can be small, so a perfect fit for ‘nano reefs’ to massive colonies that fit into larger aquariums. They are very hardy, they are very unassuming, they are affordable, they can be captively raised, and they come in a myriad of shapes, sizes and colors. I liken some of our members here at Zoosrus.com to a list of ‘ Who's Who’ in the zoanthid world. Hang around here long enough and you’ll see some of the most amazing species of zoanthids found in aquariums anywhere! It seems there’s no limit to the beauty or variants of the zoo!
