York Zimmerman Inc. (YZI) is an independent film and video production company located in Washington, D.C. We produce documentaries about people and ideas which change the world - stories of war, faith, justice, revolution. Our productions have been broadcast on public, commercial and cable networks, both in the United States and abroad, and have been recognized with top awards in the fields of journalism and filmmaking.
Senior Producer Steve York, who also writes and directs our programs, brings three decades of experience in the motion picture and television industries to YZI's projects. His early experiences as a cameraman, editor, and soundman contribute to his current work. He has directed crews in Europe, Asia, Africa, and Latin America, as well as the United States.
In 1995, after ten years of freelance production work, Miriam Zimmerman joined the company to direct the legal, financial and business affairs of the company.
