In 1972 there were less than 25 known Portuguese Water Dogs worldwide. Since then efforts have been successful in establishing a strong, healthy breeding stock of over 500 dogs.
We became interested in the Portuguese Water Dog in 1984, chiefly because of the non-shedding characteristic and the breed's love of water. But, not until four years later did the first PWD join our family - she was Liza - more formally CH. Eastlake Delilah. Seventeen months later, CH. Sete Mares Storm Diver (Stormer) arrived.
From these two wonderful foundation bitches and their offspring, we have so far produced thirty-three homebred champions and counting. We can't imagine what life would be without these people-oriented, intelligent dogs.
