As a public health laboratory, Wadsworth conducts programs in comprehensive clinical and environmental laboratory evaluation and accreditation. Among the direct analytical services performed are screening of newborns for inherited metabolic disease; diagnostic detection and reference services for such life-threatening diseases as HIV and TB; and diagnostic testing related to communicable disease outbreaks.
