Vueling, the next generation airline, travelled to the Airbus headquarters in Toulouse to pick up the company’s 12th airplane. In recognition of Vueling’s 2 millionth passenger, the new A-320 was named “Connie Baraja”, which she’ll be able to use for free for a 5 year period.
Before picking up the plane, Connie Baraja piloted an A-340 and an A-380 in a real time flight simulator, just like pilots in training. “It was a moving experience where I was able to see the concentration levels and training pilots must undergo. I really enjoyed the take-off”, said Connie after her run through the simulator.
Carlos Muñoz, Vueling’s CEO, Peter Bennett, Airbus vice president for Western Europe, and winner Baraja were all present during the delivery ceremony of the new Airbus. Then, the Connie Baraja plane took its first flight from Toulouse to Barcelona.
