While the most visible of these moments took place in athletic venues, UConn student-athletes also enjoyed many of these “Winning Moments” in the classrooms of the Storrs campus and also in the community performing public service.
Husky teams advanced to NCAA Championship competition in five sports this past year as the women’s basketball team advanced to the Sweet 16, the women’s soccer team played to the third round of the NCAAs, the men’s basketball and soccer teams advanced to the second round of NCAA tournaments and the field hockey team also participated in NCAA competition.
On an individual basis, Ryan Smith earned a spot in the NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championship in the 200-yard backstroke – marking the second-straight year that the team has had NCAA representation.
