About Travature
Travature is a social travel portal that combines automated trip planning and travel research tools with personal community expertise. We offer free services to simplify the process of accessing relevant travel information:
- Flight Search: A unique, patent pending, airfare comparison engine that crawls dozens of airlines and online travel agent sites to find the cheapest flights, the best times to go, and the places or activities you might be interested in checking out.
- Travel Guides: Hundreds of open wiki style travel guides written for destinations throughout the world. We mash them up with photos, restaurant, and hotel reviews, so you get a more overall feel for the place, as opposed to just a standard wiki.
- Restaurant and Hotel Reviews: A community driven platform where you can read about, rate, and share your experiences for all the places you've eaten at, or stayed in, throughout the world.
- Community: A travel centric social network where users can find and meet new travelers, share photos and discuss your best, and worst, travel experiences on a personal level.

Travature History
The idea for Travature was formed in early 2006 while founder Jeremy Almond was traveling the world. Somewhere amidst backpacking through jungles, sailing to deserted islands, and trekking through old world cultures, Jeremy realized that there was no universally trusted website that brought together travel information. A single source that could help travelers answer basic travel decisions: where to go, how much is it going to cost to go there, when to go, what to do when you get there, etc. Unfortunately, nearly all of the popular integrated travel sites seemed to have some hidden agenda of selling you something. Thus, Travature ultimately was formed out of the desire to see a unified travel resource that focused on connecting and helping travelers, free gimmicks.
