The Bull Trader

Description

JWU: Hi, I am the founder of The Bull Trader. I’m currently an undergrad MCB major at UC Berkeley (Arcadia, CA is my hometown). I made this blog to share my interest in the stock market. I used to play poker a lot, but after that got boring, I started reading about the stock market. I find stock trading to be very interesting because of how similar it is to Texas Holdem. You can’t control what cards you’re dealt, and likewise you can’t control the movement of the market. Instead, you can only buy/sell/short wheras in poker you can only bet/call/fold. Just like holdem, the stock market is a very simple game, but its a game that takes tremendous effort to master. I was too young to reap the riches of the first tech boom, but I’m patiently waiting for the next big thing.

DLAM: I am the founder of DINVESTOR.COM. I am originally from San Jose, California and currently I am an intended premed student majoring in Bioengineering at the University of California, Berkeley. JWU, who also attends my university, kindly asked me to be part of his The Bull Trader team in January 2006 and I gladly returned the favor to support his awesome website. Stock trading is a pastime activity for me and over the past few years I have realized that investing in stocks is a continual learning process and is an excellent way to stay on top of current events, global market developments, and personal finances while making some extra cash to reward myself in return. I consider myself a "visual trader" because my main rationale for trading stocks is based on chart pattern analysis and technical analysis. So far experience tells me that visual cues often preempt upcoming market trends and news or earnings reports. Some of my favorite stock "quotes" are "Charts don’t lie." and "Do your DD!" I prefer a long, mind-boggling game of Mahjong over Texas Hold ‘Em solely for the purpose of fun and socializing with my peers. Cheers and good luck to all investors.

KHWONG: I am currently a third year undergradute at UCLA. Majoring in Psychobiology, this stock game started out as merely a simple pastime that I started with an old friend, known to most of you only as JWU. With premed dreams at heart, the stock market always seemed to be too much of a gamble, surely something that could not generate a viable career. But as time passed, and as I began to understand the world of trading, many of the ideas I had held steadfastly to in my head began to deteriorate. Now, after three years in college, I have come to the conlcusion that this is what I want to do. Using this column as an outlet, I hope to share everything I have learned, while still furthering my education of the stock market. Lastly, I’d like to leave you with this. "Some people complain that life never gave them any chances. You are given life. You must take the chances."
