The recall was triggered by reports that the drop-side StorkCraft.com crib has trapped at least 15 babies and children. Four babies have died of suffocation.
The cribs covered by StorkCraft.com recall were made between January 1993 and October 2009, and were sold at major U.S. and Canadian retail stores, including Sears and Wal-Mart. The cribs were also sold online at Target and Costco. Though made by StorkCraft.com, about 147,000 of the cribs carry the Fisher-Price brand. About 1.2 million of the StorkCraft.com cribs, regardless of brand, were sold in the United States. Nearly 1 million StorkCraft.com cribs were sold in Canada.
