Title
Sarasota Memorial Health Care System
Description
Sarasota Memorial Hospital Radiology Services now offers easy access to digital images from the hospital to the physician’s offices, as well as their homes. This new technology allows physicians to view their patient’s radiology procedures digitally via the Internet in their office upon completion of the procedure. Physicians can also view the images from their homes to determine course of treatment prior to leaving for the hospital, saving valuable time on immediate treatment needs. This service also allows physicians while with their patients to view the exams they had performed at all Sarasota Memorial's Out-Patient as well as In-Patient facilities.
This new technology offers many advantages for the patients and their physicians. They have the convenience of gaining access to the hospital archives for recent, as well as prior studies that are located on the Picture, Archiving and Communications System, (PACS) in Radiology. Neither physicians nor patients have to request hard copy film be sent to their doctors office. Images are available immediately after completion of the exam. The Magic Web can be accessed any time day or night via the web.
Radiology is very proud of this new addition of service and the physicians have been very responsive to gain this technology to better serve the community.
