The Slim-Fast Optima Diet is marketed as a diet program that contains four distinct keys to success. First is the diet, which involves replacing breakfast with a Slim-Fast shake, having a shake along with a small 200 calorie meal, or more depending on your weight, for lunch, and dinner and snacks. Each shake contains approximately 220 calories and is high in many vitamins and nutrients. The shakes do not appear to contain any appetite suppressing or fat burning ingredients. The second component of the program is Physical Activity, which offers basic guideline about getting started in exercise. It also offers a personalized online fitness plan and activity log. It is unsure as to how personalized these things can be when it is all conducted via the internet without face to face evaluation of the dieter.
