- Before, this town was called Tarampitao Point, a Barangay included in the Municipality of Quezon. It came into existence when Batasang Pambansa passed a law creating the Marcos Town on April 1983 through Batas Pambansa Blg. 386. On April 1988, the congress enacted Republic Act No. 6652, changing the Municipality to Dr. Jose P. Rizal. The town is home to the famous Tau’t Bato tribe or the cave dwelling people. It is also endowed with bountiful natural resources and potential tourism destinations.
