When Illinois State junior pitchers Kitt Kopach and Dan Frega were drafted in the 12th round of the 2006 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft a week ago, neither was exactly sure what their immediate next step would be. However, after a week of talking with the teams that drafted them and having conversations with coaches, friends and family, both have decided to leave college baseball and have signed contracts with their respective teams to pursue their professional baseball careers.
Red Alert is a new student organization aimed at increasing school spirit and providing a "home-field" or "home-court" advantage for Redbird teams. The year-long pass guarantees student admission to all regular season athletic events.
Scott replaces the recently resigned Cory Acree, who had held the assistant marketing director position the past three years. Geeser was a student intern in the marketing department this past spring.
