The Rat Zapper was invented by Robert Noe of California. Friends of Mr. Noe fondly refer to him as the "Gentleman Cowboy." Mr. Noe was plagued by rodent problems on his horse ranch. Gophers, mice and rats were causing damage to his property and equipment. He had very little luck with snap traps and glue boards and worst luck with poison. The family pet, a Labrador Retriever, died from rat poison dispensed by his neighbors. He was at the end of his rope.
One day, while inspecting his electrified horse fence, he noticed that a gopher had popped his head up into an exposed "hot wire." Upon closer inspection, Mr. Noe noticed that the wire which was stuck to the gopher's nose had dispatched the rodent to the Great Gopher beyond. This gave Mr. Noe the idea for the first product produced by AgriZap, Inc., the Gopher Zapper.
