Politech is the oldest Internet resource devoted exclusively to politics and technology. Launched in 1994, the Politech mailing list has chronicled the growing intersection of law, culture, technology, politics, and law. Since 2000, so has the Politech web site.
When I founded Politech a decade ago, it was a hand-maintained discussion list about free speech on the Internet with about 190 subscribers. Since then, it has blossomed into the tens of thousands thanks to the majordomo and Mailman utilities, and has been featured in scores of newspapers and magazines including the New York Times, the Philadelphia Inquirer, Slate, and Salon. The Los Angeles Times has called Politech "one of the best" mailing lists on the Internet, with "daily dispatches that are relevant and succinct."
