Description
I was unable to grow up in my hometown of Tustin, California, on the west coast of the United States. I nonetheless graduated from California State University (Fullerton) and worked as a newspaper journalist, reporting and writing news and sports as well as layout pages the old-fashioned way with a pencil and paper.
After only a few years, a buyout of the paper allowed me to fulfill a secret ambition to try living in Japan. I worked first as an English teacher (fun!), then in hiring and training foreign teachers (not as much fun) and finally in begging and pleading foreign teachers not to date the students (pretty much impossible).
