Pirate Reports provides a personalised service to Intellectual Property owners which includes pre-launch advice to minimise potential losses from piracy and specific targetted action if a problem has arisen where losses or potential losses are identified.
The company ethic is biased toward staff investigation and reporting of abuse as opposed to fully automated reporting as experience has shown that there are less mistakes and better results overall. Many hosts do not have the manpower to administer automated email "floods" and in some countries where co-operation is not guaranteed this approach can merely result in reports being deleted as spam. I even know of one large US network that takes the same approach to Peer 2 Peer DMCA "floods".
Our addition of a reference and discussion forum where both anti-piracy and pro-piracy factions are welcome, has proved to be a well received project, and whilst still in its infancy is evolving into a worthwhile point of reference to those who like simple explanation as well as legal argument.
