Paul Murrain is an urban design practitioner in London, UK, and formerly Senior Design Director for The Prince's Foundation, where he now serves as Senior Fellow. He has 25 years, experience in expert urban design advice, leading design teams, consultation and academic research projects related to new urban settlements, and large-scale residential and mixed use developments in the UK and abroad, drawing on his extensive involvement in the New Urbanist movement in the USA and Australia .

Paul jointly led research for the Quality in Town and Country Initiative for the Department of the Environment and was an adviser on ,By Design: Towards better design in the planning system, (DETR/CABE 2000). He was Course Chairman at the Joint Centre for Urban Design, Oxford and joint author of "Responsive Environments: A Manual For Designers." He has undertaken visiting lectureships at the Universities of Sydney, Melbourne and Miami , and participated in design reviews at Yale School of Architecture. He is a member of the Congress for New Urbanism in the USA .
