The Property Appraiser's Office is here to serve you. I have prepared this web site to give you an overview of many of the functions of the Orange County Property Appraiser's Office and to provide insight into how this office and the various taxing authorities interact with you, the property owner.
It is my pleasure to provide these helpful facts on the valuation and tax process as well as to explain the various benefits available through various exemptions. You will also find information on how to review and/or appeal your property valuation should you feel the need to do so. Our primary goal is to establish fair and equitable values for all property.
The Orange County Property Appraiser is responsible for identifying, locating, and fairly valuing all property, both real and personal, within the county for tax purposes. The "market" value of real property is based on the current real estate market. Finding the "market" value of your property means discovering the price most people would pay for your property in its current condition. Determining a fair and equitable value is the only role of this office in the taxing process.
