GNOME

GNOME is a project to create an easy-to-use free UNIX/Linux desktop environment. For two years back in the day I was the chair of the board of the GNOME Foundation, but now I'm back to just hacking on the code.

Work

I work at Red Hat, historically as "guy who gets asked about anything that sounds desktop or client related" (aka the tech lead and acting manager of the desktop engineering team). At the moment I'm doing a "special project."

GNOME Book

Look here for more information about GTK+/Gnome Application Development, a book about GNOME programming I wrote. The book is mostly obsolete with the release of GTK+ 2.0 and GNOME 2.0. Someday I'll have time to write another one.
